LED Upgrade to Davis Wade Stadium
Mississippi State University was looking to upgrade Davis Wade Stadium to LED. Their goal was to reduce energy consumption, improve light quality on the field and dramatically improve fan and player experience. The first lighting upgrade since 2010, the Techline Sports Lighting LED retrofit solution including Action Lighting and Full Color capability, greatly exceeded these goals.
The existing poles and cages were utilized to reduce cost while new fiber optic and DMX wiring were installed throughout the stadium. In addition to better playing and viewing for those in the stadium, the brighter and cleaner LED lighting also will enhance the television broadcast quality for fans watching from home and exceeds standards across Division I football. Choreographed LED lighting sequences will be added to key moments during home games including the team’s intro sequence prior to kickoff, key in-game moments and in conjunction with other special elements during timeouts and quarter breaks.
“We are committed to providing our student-athletes and fans with the best possible game-day experience,” MSU Director of Athletics Zac Selmon said. “The state-of-the-art lighting will make Davis Wade Stadium an even more electric atmosphere. We believe these upgrades are one more step in our pursuit of making Starkville and Davis Wade Stadium one of the premier destinations in college football.”
